Winning expiring domain Auctions

If you win an expiring domain name in GoDaddy Auctions®, you must make payment within approximately 48 hours of the auction closing. Failure to purchase the domain in a timely manner may result in loss of the domain and suspension of your auctions membership. In addition to the auction price, you will need to pay the renewal fee for the domain name. For more information, see Purchasing Domain Names You Won.

After you make a payment, we move the domain name to your account within 7 days.

To view the scheduled transfer date, log in to your Auctions account. From the Bidding List menu, select Won. The scheduled transfer date displays in the Status column.

Attention C3: We allow customers to redeem a domain name in status 77 or 149, if the domain is still available in their account. The Domain enters status 77 on day 19. The domain is no longer guaranteed to be redeemable as of day 30. This cheat sheet covers the life cycle of most top-level domain names (TLDs). If a customer bids on, and wins, their own expired domain name, it follows the same process it would for anyone who won an expired domain from auction. The difference is that the domain name will leave their account (and will no longer be redeemable), then will take time to be moved back into their account - within 7 days of payment.
